Our Ajmer Pushkar Sightseeing Tour of 2 nights 3 days is specifically aimed at discovering Ajmer and Pushkar, the spiritual and cultural hub of Rajasthan. However, being geographically located close to each other, this tour presents a jarring contrast of Sufi and Mughal heritage along with the Hindu mythology and is renowned for its holy lake and unique temple. The tour presents a chance to come close to acute religious piety, learn about marvellous architectural remnants, and be submerged in the colorful local atmosphere of these sacred places. The tour is highly introspective and rewarding experience, it properly grasps the historic depth and local traditions that define this region.
Day 1: Ajmer Arrival
The tour begins with the arrival of guests in Ajmer. Travellers are usually received at Ajmer Railway Station or taken from the nearby airport, Jaipur International Airport. Transfers are arranged for them to their pre-booked accommodation for check-in and a brief period of rest. The afternoon is planned for touring the Dargah Sharif, Ajmer’s spiritual hub. The tomb of the great Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, one of India’s largest pilgrimage sites, explored by millions of pilgrims of all faiths every year.
After the visit to the dargah, the tour leads you to the neighboring Adhai Din ka Jhonpra. While it is a mosque physically, its roots lie in a Sanskrit college and are considered one of the finest and first examples of Indo-Islamic architecture. The impressive carvings on its pillars and massive façade offer a dramatic insight into the complicated history of the region and many harmonies that meet within its architecture. The evening is filled with having dinner of traditional food.
Day 2: Ajmer Pushkar Sightseeing
The day is dedicated to exploring the ancient and holy town of Pushkar, a short and beautiful drive from Ajmer. Pushkar is the oldest cities of India and forms an important part of Hindu mythology. For years, people have been drawn to Pushkar Lake, a holy water body surrounded by 52 bathing ghats. Legends attribute the creation of this lake to Lord Brahma himself, and devotees travel from across the globe for a holy dip.
Travellers spend their morning exploring the ghat, watching the prayer rites being performed and the devotees with very intense dedications, contrasting strongly with the fervor of Ajmer Dargah Sharif. The Brahma Temple is unique and a main highlight of this sightseeing tour. Its architecture and spiritual worth make it a must-visit place. For the afternoon, a cultural experience is scheduled at Pushkar’s famous local markets. The bazaars are very well-known for selling everything from Rajasthani silver jewellery and embroidered textiles to rose products. The evening comes to an end with a thrilling drive back to Ajmer.
